# Mining Rigs

Mining Rigs are your means to generating $ORE\

Mint a Tier 1 mining rig with $ASTRO and stake it in the Docking Bay to start generating $ORE. 

Upgrade your mining rigs with permanent upgrades. Each upgrade increases the base mining rate for a flat percentage. <br>

* Upgrade 1: Dark Matter Fuel provides a 35% boost to a rig's mining rate
* Upgrade 2: High Frequency Laser provides a 25 % boost
* Upgrade 3: Hawk Thrusters boost the mining rate an additional 25%

Once a mining rig is fully upgraded, it can further progress by increasing its tier. Higher tier mining rigs have a higher base mining rate. <br>

* Tier 1: Scout Drone mines at a base rate of 75,000 $ORE/day
* Tier 2: Asteroid Harvester base rate is 200,000 $ORE/day
* Tier 3: Nebula Drillship start with a rate of 450,000 $ORE/day

Both permanent upgrades and Tier promotions cost $ORE and cannot be purchased with $ASTERO.

Mining rigs can be stripped of their upgrades at the scrapyard for $ASTRO. &#x20;
